Clearabee, the on-demand waste removal business, announced today that it has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointments of Graham Shaw and William Meddings as non-executive directors.
Graham Shaw is a senior level sales leader with more than 30 years experience operating in the waste and facilities management industries. Formerly Commercial Sales Director at Veolia UK, Graham will advise Clearabee on its business development strategy.
William Meddings FCA is an experienced chartered accountant who began his career working in audit and corporate finance at KPMG. Meddings, who will advise Clearabee on its corporate finance and funding requirements, also sits on the board of Orvec International Limited and is a non-executive director of Jointline Holdings Limited.
Shaw and Meddings have been appointed to help Clearabee sustain its impressive growth record and support the company with finance and business development expertise as it expands further. In March this year Clearabee was recognised in the FT1000 rankings as Europe’s fastest growing waste management company, achieving revenue growth of 459 percent between 2014 and 2017.
Clearabee currently employs 275 people and runs a fleet of 110 waste removal vehicles across the UK. The company recently secured large commercial waste removal contracts with the Co-op and Wren Kitchens, and appointed Neil Sinton, formerly of Hippo Waste, as Commercial Director. Clearabee is forecasting full year sales of over £17 million for 2019.
Daniel Long, founder and managing director at Clearabee, comments: “We are delighted that Graham and William are joining Clearabee. These appointments ensure we have an abundance of industry and business experience available to advance our aggressive expansion plans and growing position in the waste management industry.”
Graham Shaw comments: “Clearabee is a great company with huge potential and has very much been the company to watch in the UK waste management industry over the last few years. It has transformed traditional ‘man and van’ style waste collections with a digitally savvy approach and an exceptional level of customer service. I am very excited by the opportunity to help Clearabee develop its waste management strategy and sustain its incredible growth story.”
William Meddings comments: “Clearabee is making waves in waste management by bringing a new level of professionalism, enthusiasm and customer service to what was a tired and highly-fragmented part of the industry. Clearabee’s smart approach and nationwide reach has attracted a lot of attention from big enterprise customers and I look forward to working with the team to ensure that it has the right finance and terms of business in place to support its sustainable expansion.”
Clearabee is the UK’s largest man and van style rubbish clearance company, offering rubbish removal and skip hire nationwide.
