2019 at Clearabee

Read Time: 4 mins

2019 has come to an end and it has been another exciting and successful year for Clearabee. The business is constantly growing and will continue to do so in 2020 as we expand our team. Over 15 members are joining us in January as we prepare for another year of high growth, including another two senior developers as we continue to ramp up our in-house development team.

Office expansion

We have recently moved into another floor of the building our office is in. With our ever expanding team, we felt like we needed some more space. Our team is now split over two floors and we now have more space to work in, now providing 6,000 sq ft with additional meeting and breakout space.

Fleet expansion

Over 2019 we have been continuously expanding our fleet of vehicles. This year we added over 25 new vehicles and we currently have another 36 ordered for 2020.

Clearabee Forest

In 2018, we planted over 6,000 trees in Nether Kidston in Scotland. More trees have been planted throughout 2019 bringing the total up to 19,674. We now have ten acres of forest and this is expected to offset over 2,200 tonnes of carbon. We will continue planting trees in 2020 at our new forest in Cumbria.

Financial Times

Clearabee was listed at 332 on the Financial Times’ 1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies for the second year running. The FT 1000, compiled with Statista, lists the European companies that achieved the highest compound annual growth rate in revenue between 2014 and 2017. We are pleased to be one of only 132 companies from the United Kingdom to have made the list.

The Telegraph

In June, one of our two co-founders Daniel Long was featured in The Telegraph talking about the business and the idea behind it. Being featured in one of the UK’s largest and well respected newspapers was a great opportunity for the business.

Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100

At the beginning of December, we were pleased to announce that we have been listed in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 coming in at 86th. This was our second consecutive year on the league table, which ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales. We have secured a number of new contracts in 2019 and are expecting growth to exceed 35% in 2019. For more information, read our article here.

Save The Children – Christmas Jumper Day

On December 13th, our Birmingham head office took part in Christmas Jumper Day. This is an annual event in which people in the UK wear their best (or worst!) Christmas jumpers to raise money for Save The Children. Most people took part here at Clearabee and we got a photo of some of the best jumpers. Even Ollie our resident Welsh Spaniel dressed up for the occasion. Next year, we will be looking to support even more charities.
