When hiring skip services, there are several things to consider, including which skip is the most suitable for you, where you plan to put it and what you plan to dispose of.
We have discussed the main skips in our FAQ section, but we can hire out almost any sort of skip if required.
There should be no additional charges incurred If you are mindful of skip hire restrictions and the terms and conditions of your hire agreement. Additional charges are usually incurred when the skip is overloaded, if a wasted journey takes place or if prohibited items are discovered in the skip.
Additional charges may be incurred if you need parking suspensions or skip permits but these will be discussed and agreed upon when ordering.
Whilst skips are a flexible rubbish removal option, there are restrictions regarding which waste streams go into each skip and which waste types can be mixed.
Modest amounts of garden or construction waste are all suitable for a skip, as long as it does not exceed the weight restrictions with regards to bricks, rubble and soil. Standard household items can be thrown into a skip alongside bulky and business waste.
There are certain waste streams which cannot be removed by a skip without prior arrangement with Clearabee:
Hazardous waste streams which include laptops, monitors and TV’s
Plasterboard and gypsum
White goods such as fridges and freezers and other large WEEE items
Food waste
Solvents, liquids and paints
You can hire a skip for as long you want, but our standard skip hire period is 14 days. If you need to hire a skip for a longer period of time, let us know ASAP so we are able to make the arrangements and process the additional charges.
If you aim to place your skip in a permit-only parking space, or if the parking space is Pay and Display then you are going to need a parking suspension in addition to the aforementioned skip permit. These are usually charged on a day-by-day basis.
