FAQs
Shrewsbury skip hire FAQs
When considering which skip to hire, there are several things to take into account: which skip is the most suitable, where do you plan to place it and what do you plan to dispose of in it.
We have covered our main skips with our FAQ section, but we can hire out almost any type of skip upon request.
Skips are delivered between 8am and 6pm. If you need a more precise arrival time and have a light waste stream that needs removing, then our ‘Man and Van’ service can be more flexible with timings, or alternatively, contact Clearabee as we may be able to accommodate special requests via a bespoke quote.
Skips are a flexible yet robust waste removal solution. However, there are restrictions on what waste streams can go into each skip and the mixing of certain waste types.
Broadly speaking, standard household and bulky business waste can be thrown into a skip, as well as modest amounts of garden and construction waste streams.
These items cannot be removed by a skip without prior arrangement with Clearabee:
White goods and large electrical items
Hazardous waste including fluorescent lighting tubes, fridges, TV’s and monitors
Food waste
Plasterboard/gypsum waste
Chemicals and solvents, liquids and paints
Our standard skip hire period is for 14 days but if you want to hire a skip for a longer or shorter period of time, you should let us know ASAP so arrangements and charges can be organised.
If you need to place your skip in an area which has permit-only parking or if the parking space is Pay and Display, you will require a parking suspension as well as a skip permit.
Parking suspensions are usually charged by the day and require the council to place a notice to suspend the parking space and this increases the cost considerably.
