Salford skip permits
Clearabee are able to provide advice on the circumstances of your skip hire, including whether or not you’ll need a skip permit.
Generally, you will require a skip permit in Salford if you do not have the space on your property which means your skip needs to be positioned on the road.
Salford parking suspensions
The city of Salford relies on skip hire for rubbish removal from homes, office and construction sites.
Not everyone has the space for a skip though, especially in urban areas. However, Clearabee can acquire the relevant parking suspensions on your behalf so you can use a skip even if you don’t have the space.
FAQs
Salford skip hire FAQs
When thinking about skip hire, there are a few things you should consider, including which skip is best for you, where you’re going to place it and what you're going to dispose of in it.
We discuss the main skips in our dedicated FAQ section, but we can hire out almost any type of skip when required.
The 4 y3 ‘Midi’ skip is usually the smallest available. The next largest skips are ‘Builders’ skips at 6 - 8 y3, while ‘Maxi’ and extra-large skips are 10 - 12 y3.
The largest skips that Clearabee provide are commercial skips which include lockable skips, enclosed skips and (RORO) containers. These are costed with a transport and tonnage rate with quotes provided upon request.
In most cases, standard household and bulky business waste can be disposed of in a skip along with standard garden and construction waste streams. However, certain restrictions do exist regarding which waste streams can go into each skip and which waste types can be mixed.
The following waste streams are prohibited from being thrown in a skip without prior arrangement:
White goods/large electrical items
Chemicals, paints and solvents
Hazardous waste streams such as fridges, TV’s and monitors.
Food wastage
Plasterboard waste
If you intend to place the skip on the public highway, you will need a skip permit from Salford City Council. The cost of each skip permit depends on the council involved but Clearabee can apply for your skip permit and add it to your order.
If you plan to use a Pay and Display or permit-only parking space for your skip, you will need a parking suspension. Salford City Council will suspend the parking space and this will be charged on a day-by-day basis.

We audit and approve each local Waste Transfer Station we use to ensure full compliance and the highest recycling rate possible.
Eco-friendly waste clearances
We divert from landfill over 95% of waste we collect across the UK. Our services are carbon-neutral due to our two UK forests which means with Clearabee you are helping to keep Salford clean.
