What is a Midi Skip?

Read Time: 4 mins

A midi skip is a smaller variant of skip, it’s smaller size means they’re easier to handle to cheaper to hire. The most common size of skip tends to be the 8-yard skip, while midi skips hold a capacity of 4 cubic yards. Midi skips tend to be best suited for clear-outs after the renovation of a single room. They are ideal for kitchen and bathroom refurbs. For a clearance of an entire home, you would probably have to look at a skip with a larger capacity. Something like an 8 or a 12-yard skip possibly, that’s of course if you plan to do all the heavy lifting and fill the skip yourself. If you would like an extra pair of hands or two then our reliable and speedy ‘Man and Van’ service might be just what you’re looking for.

Midi Skip Size

There may be slight differences from one midi skip to the other but a good guide is that most midi skip dimensions will be around 7 feet long, 5 feet wide and 3 feet high. In metres, that’s 2.1 metre long, 1.5 metre wide and 0.9 metre high. Skips capacities are typically measured in cubic yards and midi skips tend to hold 4 cubic yards. This is equivalent to the size of 8 domestic washing machines.
