Skip permits in Birkenhead

As specialists, Clearabee can provide advice on the circumstances of your skip hire, including whether or not you need a skip permit.

As a general rule, you will need a skip permit in Birkenhead if you do not have sufficient space on your property and your skip needs to be positioned on the public highway.

Parking suspensions in Birkenhead

Birkenhead and Merseyside rely heavily on skip hire services for rubbish removal from construction sites, home renovations and office refurbs.

Not every property has space for a skip though, especially those in built-up areas. Clearabee can acquire the relevant parking suspensions so you can make use of a skip even if you don’t have space.

FAQs

Birkenhead skip hire FAQs

When selecting a skip there are some considerations which will impact what skip size and type is the most suitable, such as where you plan to place it and what you plan to put inside of it.

Here, we have detailed the main skips with our frequently asked questions section, but we can hire out almost any type of skip.

View all FAQs

The ‘Midi’ skip is generally the smallest skip available at four cubic yards in size. ‘Builders’ skips are six - eight cubic yards in size, while ‘Maxi’ and extra-large skips are ten - twelve cubic yards.

The largest skips are the specialist commercial skips which include lockable skips, enclosed skips and Roll On, Roll Off (RORO) containers. These skips are costed with a transport and tonnage rate and prices can be provided upon request.

Clearabee customers can amend their order or delivery date as long as the skip is not already out for delivery. A wasted journey fee will apply if the skip is already out for delivery. If you have more waste than your skip can manage, you can always supplement the service with our ‘Man and Van’ rubbish removal.

A wasted journey charge could be applied if the skip cannot be placed or collected on time as scheduled.

Additional charges could occur if the skip is filled past the ‘level load’ line, if the waste exceeds the skip’s capacity for volume or if it is filled with prohibited items.

Parking suspensions and skip permits can be organised at the point of ordering so additional charges are less likely to be incurred.

You are going to need a skip permit from Wirral council if you intend to place the skip on the public highway. The cost of skip permits depends on each council but Clearabee can apply for your skip permit and add it to the total cost of your order.

You will need a parking suspension and a skip permit to use a parking space that is Pay and Display or permit-only. Parking suspensions require Wirral Council to suspend the parking space so others can’t use it and this will be charged on a day-by-day basis.
